25th Anniversary Celebration

25th Anniversary Celebration & Fundraiser

For the past 25 years, Friends of Portland Community Gardens (FPCG) has been instrumental in helping advocate for, build and fund community gardens in the Portland metro-area.  Now, it is time to celebrate our accomplishments and kick off the next 25 years with a bang!

On November 10, 2011, the Friends of Portland Community Gardens will celebrate our 25th anniversary at a by-invitation-only party and fundraiser at the Ecotrust Billy Frank Jr. Conference Center, a space generously donated by Ecotrust for the event.  Joining us will be Mayor Sam Adams, Commissioner Nick Fish, members of the media, and 200 of our closest supporters, friends and allies.

The evening will begin with live music while friends and leaders in the local food community gather and network with one another.  Abundant, locally-sourced appetizers will be catered by the great people at Artemis Foods, and beer and wine is being donated by local brewers and wineries for this special event.  There will also be a special anniversary raffle with fun prizes donated by local companies.

Our guests will hear directly from Mayor Adams and Commissioner Fish on how the Friends of Portland Community Gardens has impacted the Portland community over the past 25 years, and the great need to continue this work.  Board Chair Lora Price will also speak briefly about FPCG’s vision for our next 25 years.

As part of our anniversary year celebration, FPCG has set a goal to raise “25 for 25”—$25,000 for new gardens in honor of our 25 years.  Learn more about supporting the campaign.

Thank you to our 25th Anniversary Campaign Friends and Supporters.
