Produce for People Support

Providing fresh produce grown by community gardeners to local food pantries. A major investment we make is to support the PP&R Produce for People program through soil amendments and vegetable starts.

When we get the opportunity to build new gardens we jump right in. Several of the gardens in the program we developed with financial resources through the Friends. In 2022 and 2023 we built gardens seven transitional housing locations.

Mason Bee Program

Supporting local native pollinators through what we like to call “mason bee ranching”. Building mason bee houses, raising mason bees, and helping them weather the winter. Providing education and information to bee “rancher” gardeners.

Support for Community Garden Managers

Thanks to your support, we increased our manager gift cards by 50% and raised funds for three garden projects. Lets continue that increase this year!

Building Community by Building Community Gardens

When we get the opporunity to build new gardens we jump right in. Several of the gardens in the city’s Community Garden Program were developed with the fiscal and sweat equity resources of Friends of Portland Community Gardens.

Fiscal Sponsorship for Community Garden Projects

As a 501c3 nonprofit organization we can offer sponsorship to gardeners to their projects.
